Born from a host's frustration
HostVista didn't start in a boardroom; it started with a single guest guide and a lot of frustration.
As a villa owner and host, I wanted to provide my guests with more than just a place to stay. I wanted them to discover the local gems, hidden cafes, and unique experiences that make a trip memorable. I also wanted to make the essential details — like WiFi codes and emergency contacts — incredibly easy to find.
Why I built something new
When I looked for a tool to create a digital guest guide, I was disappointed. The existing options were either outdated, clunky, or unnecessarily complex. I spent over an entire day trying to set up one guide, only to end up with a result that didn't feel like the premium experience I wanted for my guests.
I knew there had to be a better way to bridge the gap between a host's local knowledge and a guest's phone.
From GeckoRoutes to HostVista
Leveraging my years of experience building and scaling GeckoRoutes — a travel platform dedicated to helping people navigate the world — I decided to build the tool I couldn't find.
HostVista was created under the umbrella of Manta Vision Labs with one clear mission: exceptional UX for both the host and the traveler.
